    Thiago Ricarte studied Filmmaking at Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado - FAAP (SP), graduating in 2008. During college, worked in different productions as an electrician, camera assistant and cinematographer. In his third year, directed his first short-film O ALMOÇO - CONSIDERE UM JANTAR (that won the Paulo Emílio Award granted by the Conselho Nacional de Cineclubes and the award for best short-film at Semana Universitária do Audiovisual 2008). In 2009, wrote and directed CHAPA, chosen as Brazilian representative at Cinéfondation, integrating the official selection of the Festival de Cannes; winner of the Jury Award for best short-film at Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano in Havana; winner of the Especial Jury Award at Festival Internacional de Curtas-metragens do Rio de Janeiro (Curta Cinema) and of the RTP2 Award - Onda Curta at Festival Luso-Brasileiro de Santa Maria da Feira. In 2010, wrote and directed the comedy HERÓi, which premiered at the 43° Festival de Brasília do Cinema Brasileiro. In 2012, shot the short-film DOIS, selected and premiered at the 41º International Film Festival Rotterdam, and the videoclip O SEU TIPO, music recorded by the Filarmônica de Pasárgada featuring Ná Ozzetti and Luiz Tatit. In 2014, his new short-film DIA BRANCO premiered at the 17ª Mostra de Cinema de Tiradentes and he wrote and directed the videoclip FIU FIU, featuring the cartoonist Laerte Coutinho and the musician Tom Zé. These last three projects marks the beginning of the partnership with producer Daniel Mascarenhas, founding the Cuca da Onça Productions.
